It remains up to the Jefferson Parish District Attorney to decide whether to continue to prosecute her for a crime she did not commit or to dismiss the charge against her. IJLA’s investigation revealed multiple witnesses who attested that Cheri did not commit this crime and that another woman did, and Louisiana’s higher courts have determined that she is innocent.
